WHO WE ARE
Oliver's Foundation provides funding for animal nonprofits, rescues and welfare organizations to aid in emptying Metro Detroit's animal shelters through education, outreach and advocacy programs.
We aim to end pet homelessness!
EDUCATION
We advocate and support education on pet ownership, fostering and the importance of sterilization, vaccinations and microchipping.
When our community is equipped with the information to best take care of their pets, we know they are more likely to stay in their homes.
COLLABORATION
We work with local Detroit area animal rescues and welfare orginizations not only through collaboration, but also by offering grants for their programs.
We support those rescues and shelters that align with our goals so they can continue to do what they do best: save animals.
ACTION
Our goal is to found proactive prevention programs. We will work to spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinate pets for families that cannot afford to. We also advocate for all breeds that face discrimination.

Justine Bennett
PRESIDENT
I am the co-founder/owner of Oliver's Beer Biscuits and I have a Bachelors of Nutrition and Food Science from Madonna University. I decided to get involved in Oliver's Foundation because I believe that every pet deserves a family and that every family deserves a pet.

Anne Leightner
SECRETARY
Throughout my life, animals have been an important piece of my journey, from our first family dog Sidney, to my rescue cat Percival. Over the years, animals have provided companionship, unconditional love, and joy in my life. Being Secretary of this foundation provides an amazing way to give back to rescues and shelters, so others can experience the same happiness of rescuing their future best friend.

Nate Micks
BOARD MEMBER
Nate is Oliver's chosen dad. He is a veteran and engineer, who likes to brew and drink beer in his spare time. Nate believes every dog should be as loved as Oliver.
You can find Nate helping troubleshoot or building amazing things for events and fundraisers.

I absolutely love animals!
Especially awesome pets! I have always had dogs and cats as pets and they have almost always been rescue or shelter pets. This has pushed my need to help more than just adopt.
I love volunteering for local shelters and rescues especially helping with the photography of animals needing homes. Getting better photos of these animals in need has the potential to get them adopted faster! I am a professional pet photographer and animal lover!

Karolyn Cardinale
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
I've always been a crazy dog lady,
so it was only natural for me to use my design, social media and event planning skills to bring awareness to Detroit's pet homelessness problem.
Our pets trust us to take care of them, and I firmly believe we should keep our end of the bargain.

Michelle Rafalski
TREASURER
I work for Gleba & Associates, a local independent financial management firm, and have been nothing short of dog obsessed since birth. Before rescuing my own dog, Barley, I was the go-to dog sitter for friends and family, and have always been an advocate for our furry friends. Every animal deserves to find its fur-ever home, and I’m elated to help make this reality.
